Edward VIII, eldest son of George V and Mary of Teck, was born June 23, 1894. He married an American divorcee, Wallis Simpson, abdicating the throne after reigning a scant eleven months in 1936.
When this stamp was produced in 1932 for the Imperial Economic Conference in Ottawa, he was still Prince of Wales, and this is one of the very few Canadian stamps bearing his likeness.
Fine, centered and never hinged, this is a fine collectable of this short term monarch.
