 Nuremberg is home to the German National Museum, established in 1852. It is the largest museum of cultural history in the German-speaking countries, housing a collection of around 1.2 million objects from prehistoric times to the present.
This stamp depicts the "Nuremberg Madonna," attrubuted to Albrecht Dürer, who lived in the city, and commemorates the 100th anniversary of the museum.
