In 1998, to mark their 90th anniversary, the Royal Canadian Mint added a special 'privy' mark to a limited number of Silver Maple Leaf coins.

These beautiful 1 troy ounce matte proof coins, minted in .9999 fine silver, bear the Titanic privy mark, in commemoration of the 86th anniversary of the sinking of the great ship.

The obverse features a regal portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, while the reverse displays a large maple leaf.

The Royal Canadian Mint has been praised for the high standards set for the quality and purity of their products, and these coins maintain that tradition. The mintage on these superb matte proof coins is limited to a mere 25,000 each year worldwide. Each coin is shipped in its original RCM plastic sleeve.

Much to the consternation of collectors, this particular mintage was snapped up by a private US distributor with a questionable reputation, and as a result these coins are difficult to acquire.

This should be a great find for collectors of the Privy mark series, as well as being a very handsome coin in its own right.
